I'VE BEEN WORKING WITH Konton in SF on articles from Super8filmaking magiznes. I have some he doesn't. Transferring them to him has been a nightmare. Look on my web to see a couple articles. http://www.16mmoviemaking.com/pages.htm
and his to see many more:

If you don't mind my asking, why has transferring them to Konton been troublesome?

At first we tried to e-mail .bmp files that were way too big. 300 dpi full color was about 25mb a page. Now we ftp 150 dpi gray scale files much easier.

The pdf files have somewhat blocky text. I think the jpg files are easier on the eyes.
so, how do you make PDF files anyway?
I just sent 7 articles to Konton this morning. It went very smoothly.

I've been trying to get the PDFs to look better. Those are the result of a lot of tweaking of the JPEGs in Photoshop and were the most readable text. I may try more today, but it's taxing on my eyes (I spend far too much time in front of screens).
Do you & Konton not have FTP capability to transfer files? That would be the best way to move large files. I think if I had source files with better resolution, I could make some killer PDFs from these articles. I do the same thing at work for tech manuals, and have been using my time here to convert all kinds of stuff to PDF.
I make PDF files using the full version of Adobe Acrobat. (The onlt benefit of a job these days, aside from pay, is access to expensive software.) After tweaking in Photoshop, I open the JPEG files in Acrobat, link them all together in pages, and then save. Very simple.

Yes we do transfer the files using ftp. If you want some send me your ftp address, logon name and a password. The ones I just sent to Konton were the Tips and Tricks articles. There are many more very interesting ones in the magazines, too. You shouldn't be working from the jpg files but from source .bmp files. [email protected]
